Joe and Vickie Riedel: Bequest to Benefit Pediatric Cancer Patients

Atlanta residents, Joe and Vicki Riedel and their children, Ansley and Joseph, are important members of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta family. Over 20 years ago, when Vicki worked as a development officer for the Children’s Foundation, she was the first to approach Aflac for corporate support of pediatric cancer services. The rest is history. Today, the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is one of the top pediatric cancer and blood disorder centers in the country. Joe and Vicki understand very well the pressing need to secure community support for Children’s. Their daughter, Ansley, is a childhood cancer survivor and a former Children’s patient. Ansley has transformed her personal experience and appreciation for Children’s into a venue for serving others through her current role as a pediatric nurse at the Egleston campus of Children’s. The Riedel family also made the personal decision to ensure a better future for other children in need through the creation of a bequest to benefit pediatric cancer patients at Children’s. As such, the Riedels are now members of the Children’s Legacy Circle, and their commitment to the Children’s family continues.
