Julie Childs: Childhood Memories Ignite Lifelong Passion

Julie ChildsJulie Childs grew up in Decatur and remembers regularly driving past what was then Egleston Children's Hospital—now a campus of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Years later, a partner in Julie's law firm shared with her his passion for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. This, along with the fact that two of Julie's nieces were diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, drew the hospital even closer to her heart and mobilized Julie to follow suit. She became involved with a young professionals group of the hospital which enabled her to learn more about Children’s and further solidified her personal commitment to the hospital. Julie's giving history to Children’s now spans 25 years. She has supported a number of areas of need including Hughes Spalding hospital, a Clinic endowment and most recently added Children’s as a beneficiary to her will. Julie also serves as an inaugural member of the Legacy Advisor Leadership Council which provides strategic leadership to the larger Legacy Advisor Program at Children’s to further equip advisors to engage in meaningful conversations with their clients to create passionate and personal legacies of giving.
